Choosing the right masquerade masks for your masked ball can be a challenge

Don't fret because here at Just Posh Masks we feel your pain and so you have come to the right place to buy that perfect mask

Whether you are looking for a luxury Venetian mask or a cheap budget mask you are spoilt for choice at Just Posh Masks

We are one of the largest suppliers of Venetian masquerade masks in the UK. All of Just Posh Masks' masks are high quality, made and hand decorated in Italy. We do not supply Chinese imported masks which have been known to have been decorated with toxic materials and inferior glitter which can damage the eyes

Masquerade Balls have become a regular theme of a traditional party and an excellent way for Charities to raise money. Events companies and office Christmas party organisers are also finding a masked ball is an excellent way to theme a party.

If you have been invited to a masquerade event then check to see if a mask is compulsory or an optional extra

Whether your invite says "Masked Ball" "Masquerade Party" or "Venetian Ball" and assuming it does not give a dress code then you can dress in your best, or favourite, outfit and simply wear a half face mask to match or you can get totally into character and wear a traditional Venetian mask in the form of a Venice carnival character together with a cape and/or three cornered Tricorn hat and make yourself unidentifiable

We also have masks that attach to glasses frames and for those of you that do not want to wear a mask on your face, or want to be a little different, then try wearing it in your hair, (take a look at the image supporting our masquerade hairstyles blog) round your neck like a necklace, or on your head like a pair of glasses. Like we say, the only rule is you wear a mask, it never says how or where!

However you choose to dress at your Ball, just remember, they are fun and certainly help to throw off any inhibitions

Our "Venetian Masks" are made from papier (or paper) mache, coated in a fine plaster cast to give them strength and then hand decorated using the finest of paints, gems and glitters. The paper mache is either layered, in the old fashion way, in a mould taken from a human face (remember those art classes at school, soaking newspaper in glue and layering it over a balloon?) or, using more modern day techniques, the paper mache is pulped with a glue substance and then pushed into the mould and left to set. We have papier mache masks for men and papier mache masks for women, however, as, I think we have already mentioned, most masks are unisex and traditionally, the more feminine masks were worn by men, and masculine masks were worn by women, to disguise the wearers identity

Our "Filigree Metal Masks" are made from a fine metal, laser cut to give a lace effect mask and then powder coated in an acrylic paint. Our metal masks are coated on both sides of the mask which is usually not the case with cheaper versions of these masks. The metal is also flexible and strong enough to be moulded to your face making it one of the most comfortable masks you can wear. If you like the idea of these metal lace masks then take a look at our Filigree Metal Lace Masks

Our "Masquerade Masks" are usually resin based, still made by the Venetians, who always model their moulds on a human face rather than a mannequin, are hand decorated with the same high quality materials

Our “Leather Masks” are only available in black. Machine cut from the highest quality leather and finished with ribbon ties attached using metal studs. A great option for Cosplay, Halloween or black and white masked ball

If what the mask is made of is important to you then take a look at our Masks for Men or Masks for Women and use the filter Shop by Material on the left hand side

If the colour of your mask is important to you then you need to be looking at our  Masks by Colour

So, if you have been invited to a masquerade ball or are going to the Venice Carnival you are sure to find the right mask to buy at Just Posh Masks

If you cannot decide then buy a selection of masks, try them at home for style and comfort, colour match them and then return the ones you do not want under our 14 Day Home Approval Policy
