FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHEN SHOPPING AT JUST POSH MASKS
All mask sizes are shown on the description page. There is some flexibility in the mask.
The first size is the width and this measurement would fit a face size up to 2cm smaller or larger for the resin masks and 3cm for the paper mache masks. For the metal masks the size is a guide because the laser cut metal masks are very pliable and can be bent and moulded to fit most size faces.
All our masks carry a “14 Day Home Approval” so you can try it on at home. Should you receive your mask and it does not fit then return it. Our Returns Policy can be found here.
You measure from temple to temple, in a straight line, for the width of the mask. The easiest way to do this is put two pencils over your ears, horizontal with your face, then measure between the two pencils. This is the width of your face.
Most masked balls have a dress code but unless a specific design is specified, eg… Halloween or Black and White, then the choice is yours. Go with whatever you like. Check our Masquerade Blog where we have various articles about choosing masks, dress code, masquerade hairstyles and what happens at one of these events.
If you are still unsure then buy a selection and take advantage of our 14 Day Home Approval Policy where you can try the masks on at home, colour match to your outfit and select the one you want, returning all the others for a refund.
Yes, of course, you can call us or email us and we will do our best to help. We also have an inspirational Lookbook where you can see photos of customers photos, and professional photos, of the masks being worn.
You can either have your mask on a stick or you can select from our range of masks specifically designed to be attached to the frames of your glasses.
If you don’t want to hold your mask on a stick at the Ball then view our “masks for glasses” in the dedicated category under “By Type” or click here.
Most of our masks have the option of us attaching a stick. Simply select Yes from the drop-down menu on the product page titled “Do you want a stick attached”. If there is no drop-down menu then we have assessed that these masks are either not suitable for a stick or simply do not look good on sticks.
If we don’t offer the option of attaching a stick to your chosen product then you can buy the stick loose and attach it yourself
The process is fairly easy and only requires a pen for marking the position of the stick and some strong glue to attach it. We use a hot glue gun but any strong glue will work.
You can find our YouTube video on how to do this on the product page where you purchased the stick.
Or click here to view the step by step guide with a video on attaching a stick to your mask.
However, please remember we only charge one postage regardless of the number of masks you purchase, therefore, if you can get together with a friend and place one order you will be saving on the postage.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT GOING TO A MASKED BALL
We have produced a full blog article titled “The Ultimate Guide to the Venetian masked Ball” for quick reference here is a summary below:
You enter the venue wearing your mask where you gather for canapes and drinks in the reception area. You then move to the dining area, where you remove your mask, and sit down to a meal. After you are fully fed, and sufficiently lubricated, you don your mask and join the crowds on the dance floor.
Generally, there are no rules, unless these are stated on your invitation.
The usually attire is black tie for the men and best party dress for the women, or smart casual, which covers everything except shorts, T-shirt and trainers.
An apparent minefield, but when you delve deeper, it’s as simple as choosing whichever mask you like.
Any half face mask, if the ball states black tie.
Any mask, full face, half face, Venetian character, elaborate or simple, if the ball is a masquerade themed party such as a special birthday or a Charity ball held with the primary aim of raising funds.
All masks come with ribbon ties. If you want to hide the ties then start by tying your hair up. Place the mask on your face, put the ribbons over your ears and under your hairline. Tie in a bow and then drop your hair down over the bow. Men with a lot of hair can follow these same rules.
If you are going with a more elaborate style then use the bow to incorporate it in your hair do along the lines of a fascinator.
Men with little, or no hair, cannot hide the ties unless you wear a hat. If this is an option then, sticking with the Venetian theme, go with a three cornered hat, known as a Tricorn hat.
It seems alien to prepare your makeup to perfection only to then cover half your face with a mask.
If you are a heavy foundation wearer then go for a filigree metal mask as these are lacy and allow the face to breath.
If you only makeup your eyes, then pick a mask that doesn’t have feathers which can detract from those beauties.
Wearing a mask is all about the lips. Take the time to add the WOW factor and go bold, but make sure the colour matches your mask. Your usual colour lipstick may not be the best colour for you once you have donned your mask.
Traditionally Venetian masks were worn to conceal your identity but today a masquerade party is more about adding a fun theme to an event.
Be traditional and wear your mask with pride or be inventive and wear your mask differently. Wear it on top of your head, like a hat. Wear it on the back of your head or wear it in your hair by putting your hair in a bun and wrapping the mask around the bun.
There are no rules on how you wear your mask, the only rule is you wear a mask.
