Volto Diavolo Red – Black and Red Devil Mask

This superb Red and Black Devil Mask, also known as the Diavolo mask, which means ‘devil’ in Italian, will make a very striking and unusual centrepiece for a masquerade ball or fancy dress costume.

Covering the full-face, it features a devils face with bright red lips and a pointy beard that are framed by a black cap with protruding red horns to give your Venetian masquerade persona plenty of devilish charm and a sinister look.

The mask itself has been handmade using a traditional papier mâché technique where strips of dampened paper are layered onto a plaster cast and dried, then carefully sanded by hand and coated in a fine plaster resin to obtain a smooth surface for decoration.

This full face devil mask is then beautifully decorated with acrylic paints and finished with gold leaf overlay on the pointed beard.

This is a surprisingly comfortable mask to wear to a masked ball or costume party, secured in place with silk ribbon ties, and can also be hung on the wall as an unusual decorative piece if you’re feeling a little bit devilish and daring.
