The Colombina is a half face mask covering only the wearers eyes, nose and top of cheeks and is usually elaborately decorated. Colombina was a maid servant who was adored in Italian theatre. It is said that this mask was created for a beautiful actress who did not want to cover her whole face, however, this is simply heresay and there is no pictorial evidence of this, instead, history shows that the half face Colombina is an entirely modern creation since the advent of masquerade balls

Made from resin, decorated with the famous maid servant Colombina, edged in gold leaf and secures with silk ribbon ties

Can be worn to the Venice carnival, used as a theatre prop, or hung as a wall decoration
