With glitter, feathers and jewels, this pair of His ‘n’ Hers coordinated masks work wonderfully well together. With a predominant silver colour theme, both masks are handmade using the traditional papier mâché press technique, where layers of dampened paper are pressed onto a face mould to create a cast. Once dried, the casts are sanded smooth and treated with a fine tempera coating ready for the final decoration.

The ladies mask is crafted into an elegant Cigno or swan shaped mask, which is ornately decorated with acrylic paints and contrasting glitter detailing, edged with silver lace braiding and given some added flair with a sumptuous plume of ostrich feathers and centred starched fabric flowers to one side.

The men’s Tomboy Colombina half-face mask is more simplistic in shape and design, but is still striking with acrylic paint and contrasting glitter decoration and an opulent central jewel to finish.

Both masks are secured using silk ribbon ties, but can be mounted on a stick if you choose.
