Bauta Melody – Traditional Bauta Masks with Musical Notes

If you’re attending a masquerade ball or heading to the Venice Carnival then wearing a traditional Venetian masquerade mask is a must, and this stunning full-faced Bauta Melody could be just what you’re looking for.

The Bauta mask is a full-face masquerade mask that has been worn at the Venice Carnival for centuries traditionally with a long black cape and Tricorn hat.

The design of the mask allows wearers complete anonymity, but the protruding chin also lends itself to the more practical side of parties where talking, eating and drinking are concerned, as you can do all these things without having to remove your mask.

Moulded from high quality resin, the attractive Bauta Melody has then been beautifully decorated with cream acrylic paints, gold leaf overlay and delicate inserts of sheet music framed with raised gold swirls.

To complete the mask it has been edged with gold braiding and silk ribbon ties to secure it into place.

Whilst this mask sits in our Men’s Masquerade Mask collection, it can also be worn by women, which is often thought to have been the case centuries ago, as the mask completely conceals the wearer’s identity, so men could dress as women and vice versa.
