Arlecchino Style Venetian Masquerade Carnival Mask

The Arlechinno is one of the most famous stock characters from the Commedia dell’Arte theatre, and this stunning half-face Arlechinno style Venetian Mask is a combination of multi-coloured harlequin pattern and gold leaf detailing, striking the perfect balance between luxury and tradition.

Handmade in Venice using a traditional papier mâché technique, that involves strips of paper soaked in polyvinyl acetate are layered onto a handmade mould, the Arlechinno Venetian mask is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

Once dried the cast has been carefully sanded to obtain a smooth surface ready to apply the striking decoration by hand, which consists of acrylic paints to achieve the multi-coloured harlequin pattern and gold leaf overlay.

To finish, the mask has been given a gold braided edge and silk ribbon ties to secure it in place.

This beautiful mask can be worn by men or women to a masquerade party, masked ball or the Venice Carnival celebrations, so you’re sure to look the part wherever you’re headed.
